Kyema village is located in the Kakumiro District Province in Uganda. This village serves 1,200 people including three churches and a primary school. The villagers currently use open ponds and swamps for their water. The only water that is available is dark and and muddy. This water is filled with water-borne bacteria. In the village parasites, river blindness and Typhoid are rampant.
This well brings clean, consistent water to this village. This well will save lives! They will have safe, clean water for drinking, cooking, bathing, laundry and all household needs. Now that they have their own water there is no need to leave their village, thus lessening the potential spread of COVID-19.
