Mullana Village is a rural village in Kaithal district in Haryana region, North India. People work as farmers and tend to their animals, mostly cows. The village does have a bore well, but the water is very contaminated. People do not use this water source for drinking, but only for household needs because many people became sick and children have died. The common diseases noted in this village are skin diseases, dengue fever and cholera. Normally, people walk to other villages for water, carrying water in cans and in bottles for drinking. It is about 1.25 miles distance to the next village. Our well is going to be a very deep well, beyond the possibility of contamination due to sewage and will provide a sustainable clean water source. Access to the well will be free to all in the community.

Narvana Village is a rural village located in Jind district of Haryana state in North India. It is a very poverty-stricken village where people suffer to meet their basic needs. The roads are terrible and there is no access to any government/public transportation. They have a primary school, but no higher education. The next closest school is 15 miles away. It is common for children to stop their education when they finish primary school. People tend their animals, mostly buffalos, and farm. They did use a pond as a water source for their animals and cultivation, but that pond is almost completely dried up. Many people have already sold their animals and stopped farming due to the lack of water. A small, shallow bore well exists in the village for drinking water, but it is not nearly deep enough to be a sustainable source of safe, clean water.  Currently, villagers walk one to two miles to the next village to collect water from a water tank. Our well is going to be much deeper, beyond the possibility of contamination due to sewage and will provide a sustainable clean water source. The well will be free to all in the community to use.  Common diseases are skin diseases, dengue fever and cholera.

Well #1:
Mullana Village, India

The well is completed in Mullana Village, India (Kaithal district in Haryana region, North India). This is an impoverished, rural village with not much development. People suffered every day due to the lack of safe drinking water. Previously, people were walking a few kilometers to fetch drinking water from neighboring villages. Dengue fever and cholera spread though the village often.

Even with these problems of daily suffering, there was much delay to get this well completed as fanatical religious opposition flared-up soon after we began the process to provide well. Society in India is driven by the caste-system and during the time of persecution of the Christians, a higher-caste family came to know the Lord. They were very helpful to bring lasting peace. Once everything was completely at peace, we proceeded and drilled a deep well to provide abundant clean water to meet the needs of the entire village.

Now, the villagers are rejoicing because of the deep well. The village’s politician/elder came for the inauguration and thanked us for the deep well to help all the people. He said, “We tried to get a well for this village but there were no funds available. Thank you so much. You did a big help for the entire village. You have shown the love of God through this well.”

You have changed their lives! And, changed their health. They are now also able to grow gardens, something they were unable to do without water.

The believers of the village church are so thankful for the well and very excited to show the gift of the well as a platform to share their testimonies and love of Jesus with the villagers now. Thank you so much! The church shares this message, “We are so grateful to you and praying for you. May the Lord continue to bless you and open more resources so that you can bless the Nations.”

Testimonies:

  1. Ramlat Beevi: I am from a Muslim family and we did not have water in our village for many years now. I used to walk to the neighboring village to carry water in my shoulders everyday for my family of 8 people. It was painful. But today not only me but all the women and children were relieved from the problem of water. Thank you so much for making this bore well. Even our little children can come carry water from this pipe any time.
  2. Poonam Devi: I thank you for making this bore well in our village. I have kidney problem and doctor told me to drink bottled water only. As I am a widow and not working, it is not easy all the time to buy the bottled water. But now I got water better than the bottled water in my own village.
  3. Sardar Kuldeep Singh: I am from a Sikh family and work in the Sikh temple. As family we were suffering for the drinking water and I used to carry water from the temple but still that was polluted. We did not what to do to help our children with good water. Now we are so thankful to you all for making such a deep bore well here in our village. This water is excellent. I am drinking first time this much good water.
  4. Nirmal: This is the happiest day for me as our problems are solved because of this bore well. Now we can grow vegetables in our gardens.
  5. Vimal: (permanent missionary in this village) – We made a big difference here in this village now. We tried to make a bore well earlier but got some opposition and now the entire village supports me as we are meeting their basic need. This is a big opportunity for me.

Well #2:
Narvana Village, India

The well is completed in Narvana Village, India. (Jind district in Haryana region, North India) This is a rural, poverty-stricken village and people mostly work as farmers. The people would travel to other villages for drinking water as they had no clean water in their village…they had a seasonal pond and  Children and women used to go far distances to neighboring villages for drinking water and water-related illness common.

Clean water was their most urgent need. No one else helped them though they asked for help. But, you helped them. You have changed their lives! And, changed their health. The school children now have access to clean water and people can grow gardens and water their livestock.

When our ministry partners started work in this village they realized the urgent need for clean water. Praise God that we could drill a deep well. The water is clean and abundant, sufficient for the entire village. The people are rejoicing today as their dream for their basic need for safe, clean water is met. Moreover the church and new believers in this village are very excited that they have safe drinking water and it will be the best platform to share their testimonies with others in the village.

Thank you so much! You are such a blessing to the North Indian mission to advance the kingdom. May the Lord continue to bless you and bring forth many more resources so that together we can make a big impact in these rural villages in North India. You have brought  smiles to their faces and health and hope to their lives, changed now because of this great investment.

  1. Retha: I am so thrilled today to see this bore well here in our village. I used to walk 3 kilometers every day to collect the drinking water from the neighboring village. I got knee pain and it will very difficult to carry water every day for my family. Today I am so glad that now our problem for the water is solved. I tasted the water and the water is very good. I drank this much good water first time in my life. Thank you so much.
  2. Suman: I run a children education center here in this village and we have about 50 small children from the slums and poor families come for education. The biggest challenge we faced was that we were not able to provide drinking water to these children as we did not have the drinking water in our village. Now I am so happy that I can provide them safe drinking water from this pipe. It not only helped our children but helped all the families in our village.
  3. Kamala Devi: I live with my in-laws and old parents. There are 8 members in our family. I need to mainly look after them all. I also got kidney diseases. Water was the main issue as I used to collect water or my husband used to bring the water in cycle some time for drinking. We always lacked water. We sold our cattle’s and lost our gardens as we lacked water. Today we are excited to see this deep bore well here. Thank you so much.
  4. Firoz Ahammad: I am from a Muslim family and we live here in this village. We thank you for providing this water facility for our village today. We all are so happy that we got the best water in our village now. This bore well is very deep and the water is very good. There was a time that another village girls were not interested to marry our village boys as there is no good water in our village. We had been suffering sickness. You brought these smiles to our people.
  5. Neha: I never brought water to my school as there were no water in our house. So I used to drink water in the school and carry water in my bottle water every day for my little brother. He will be waiting for me every day for my water bottle. Now we are happy that we can have sufficient water from this pipe.
